Re: Empty EPG after overnight update.

Sorry Beeley it's beyond my very limited knowledge/experience.

Sounds like the day, that will get us all in the end, has arrived - a new PVR is required. :(

Re: Empty EPG after overnight update.

In my experience the box not responding to the remote is a sign that the box has locked up and in that state is not doing anything. I don't think it is a hardware failure if it then responds to putty commands and works in 'normal' mode. I would take the IT helpdesk type route and suggest a complete ...

Re: Empty EPG after overnight update.

I'm afraid I can't help as I have never dared do a retune. (Any new channels eventually appear in the guide and I just renumber them to where I want them.) I don't suppose you backed up the channel list before you did this ? When I had to reinstall the firmware last year, I placed back my old channe...

Re: iPlayer version on 3view being "closed"

I agree that it is not much of a surprise.
However I find it much easier to use than the one on my newer Panasonic Bluray player.
Plus this means I've got to teach the wife how to use another machine - that's easily the worst part of this announcement.

Re: Channel scanning - more info

I made an attempt to report something that sounds quite similar. http://www.3viewpvr.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=173&p=2513#p2513 The following was reported by my wife so is a bit vague but I wonder if it fits in here... She turned the box on (about 7.30) to see what she had recorded recently. Sh...

Re: Sound Problems on HD channels

eek! I didn't want to cause an argument. We are all just trying to help by offering our opinion on whatever is the latest problem. I had the usual echo at the start of Doctor Who last night on BBC3HD but I've had none of the terrible crackling I had last Saturday that made me start the thread. It wa...

Sound Problems on HD channels

I've had an echo on the sound as some programmes start on HD channels (eg Doctor Who or MOTD) for ages. Flicking to another channel and back again stops it and it has never appeared on a recording of these programmes. Recently there has been a couple of instances were the sound got louder/sharper fo...

Re: compacting local database?

Sorted. Got the last few recordings off. Reformatted, installed official firmware and Codgev2. The box reboots sooo quickly now and it seemed so strange to see a completely empty PVR menu  The restore channels was such a godsend. I copied over a good version of the channels using Filezilla then...
