Returned to John Lewis

Post by adamskiuk2002 » Fri Dec 23, 2011 4:46 pm

Just returned my 3view box to John Lewis having purchased it 13 months ago. Full Refund, no quibble. :D

Just told them it basically didn't work (No HD, signal quality poor etc..)

Fantastic service, can't ask for any more than that.

Purchased the Humax instead (It certainly can't be any worse then 3view!)

I would be very interested to know what the Humax is like after the 3View. I am particularly interested in the SD picture quality.

Looking forward to your comments.

Cheers

I too will be interested in the feedback,

I seem to have walked into John Lewis at the same time as adamskiuk2002, mines about 13 months old, and Im fed up with it now.

If it ticks the box's I require, AC3 Support, iPlayer and the Usual HD PVR features, then after Christmas, Ill be knocking at the doors of John Lewis to get Humax.

It does all that and more. I'm stunned by it's quality after the 3view.

No issue with the sd picture ether

Another result today :D :D :D :D :D

Popped back into John Lewis and the Humax 1TB had been reduced to £249.

Got £110 back from my purchase last week!!!!

On the subject of picture quality... No complaints so far.

I can't even remember why I originally chose the 3view over Humax. Can you reorder the channels on the Humax?
I also got mine from John Lewis just in time for Christmas last year.

I purchased my 3view because of the supposed superior functionality such as Z-Wave....which never materialized.

on the Hummy, I haven't found a way of re-ordering channels yet, but it does have "groups", you can put channels into one of several groups and then select that group for the list of channels. Sort of a favourites, but multiple lists.

There's also a very active hacking community at http://hummy.tv/forum/
You can add sky player, epg control via your web browser and a host of other stuff. Not quite in Toppy's or TiVo's league (in their day), but none the less, quite impressive.

Overall the HDR-T'2 seems to be built to a high quality, the remote is miles better than 3views (not perfect, but better!). It also has a deep power saving mode where they say it consumes less than 1 watt in standy. Oh and no crashes so far, and HD actually works wiothout a prayer first.
